Tokenism is the practice of including a small number people from underrepresented groups in an organization or environment, typically for sake appearances quotas, without providing any real power meaningful work. In context education industry, tokenism can refer to act hiring Asian-American educators appear diverse giving them absolute authority opportunities advancement. This paper will explore prevalence specifically as it relates educators. Using various contexts, this discuss implications on individuals who are included tokens, community whole and obstacles that hinder retention teachers learners.
